Auto Insurance

You’ve got to have it—now what?

You’re required by law to carry auto insurance.

If all insurance is the same, what difference does it make where you get your coverage - just shop around for the best price, right?

There is a Difference

We have seen our share of accidents. However, of all the claims we see on a daily basis, few are as frequent or as potentially life changing as accidents involving an automobile.

You may think you want the cheapest insurance you can find, but realize you may not be getting everything you think you are bargaining for.

While most insurance products are similar in price and overall function, insurance providers are very different when it comes to structuring a policy that actually covers you. For example, do you have adequate third party liability limits in the event you injure someone? Could you benefit from access to a rental car while your car is in the shop?

We are your neighbours. We protect people we know and care about, and that means we always look for ways to protect you better - including carefully choosing the insurance companies we represent to be both affordable and responsive.

What is insurance for, anyway?

Keep in mind that you cannot buy insurance after you have an accident.

You should think carefully about the position you want to be in if you should ever be in an accident. This means you should try to think of your auto insurance as a shield. Then imagine someone else driving a car right into that shield.

Will it hold?

Our main job is to make sure your shield can withstand as much damage as possible for the most reasonable cost. Thus keeping the out of pocket expenses minimal, but it also means making sure your assets and income stay protected in case you are at fault and there is a lawsuit.

That means, we’ll show you all of your protection options, recommend the right limits and make sure you receive every discount you’re entitled to (such as cars with winter tires, or bundling other types of insurance with the same carrier).

Personalized protection - just one reason you should consider talking to a real person at our local office, instead of a remotely located telephone salesperson.

What auto insurance covers... and what is optional

Insurance protects you and your assets in case of loss, injury or damage; either caused by you, or by someone else.

Auto insurance usually consists of the following protections:

  • Liability - in case you are found legally responsible for property damage and/or bodily injury to others
  • Collision - in the event of your car is damaged by a collision with an object or tips over
  • Comprehensive - if your car is damaged other than collision (e.g. fire, theft, vandalism, falling objects)

Additional protection may include:

  • Emergency Road service if you are ever stranded in your vehicle
  • Cover for a rental car in Canada and the United states
  • Claims protection to maintain lower premiums
